Abstract

Tai Chi is the highlight of Chinese martial arts. It has healthcare functions which other sports cannot replace and is recommended by World Health Organization to be one of the two sports which are most suitable for the human beings. Tai Chi practitioners often leave their residence places of origin for places other than their hometowns for the purposes of rehabilitation exercises, exchange of ideas, contest participation or seeking roots and visiting ancestors. In these processes, tourist activities take place. This paper endeavors to begin with the current situation of the Tai Chi healthcare tourism home and abroad. Then it analyzes its current problems and future opportunities. Based on the above, this paper puts forward strategies for the development of Tai Chi healthcare tourism.
