Abstract

The objective of this study was to assess whether higher education students desire to create their own enterprise/being an entrepreneur or search for job after their graduation. Two hundred sixty three (263) prospective graduates were selected from three schools (School of Business and Economics, School of Agriculture, and School of Engineering and Information Technology) that were taken as strata and proportionate stratified sampling was used to determine each stratum sample size. Then sample respondents were selected by systematic random sampling and self administrated questionnaire was filled and returned by selected respondents. The findings of this research revealed that the majority of students showed generally positive desire towards creating one’s own job though they desired being an entrepreneur as a second option.
